What’s the worst that could happen?

Do you ever not do something because something bad “might” happen? Do you shrink away from the risk? Better safe than sorry? Do you prefer to go the tried and tested route, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it? Better the devil you know? (Alright, enough with the clichés).

If so, sometimes, you are totally right.

Because the worst could happen.

  • It could result in shame and embarrassment.
  • It could result in sleepless nights of absolute terror.
  • It could result in debt collectors knocking on your door.
  • It could result in agonising pain.

BUT. If it is something you really want to do (whatever it is) It is worth the risk. Every time. Don’t wait. Go for it. And, honestly, if there was no risk would it worth doing? Anything truly worth it will involve an element of risk

Don’t live to regret not trying something. (“I only wish I’d…”)

Try it now. Just once. You may never get the chance again.

Worried about the risk? Here’s an idea:

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT:

Reduce the risk of the worst happening. Learn what you need to do to best avoid it.

Matt Cheuvront said, “Come to terms with your worst-case scenario, embrace it & you’ll immediately feel empowered.”

You can then deal with it, head on, No backing down. We do have some control over what will happen

What is your worst case scenario?

  • Is it that you’ll get no clients? Learn the art of marketing, writing good copy, selling.
  • Is it that you won’t know enough to complete/ do a job? Learn everything that a job entails (Or stay safe and never move jobs. Ever)
  • Is it that people will laugh at you, or scorn you? Learn the art of charisma. Or grow a pair.

The answer is out there.

There are 649 million websites in the world today (rough estimate). This translates into billions of webpages. These webpages cover pretty much every subject you can think of and even more that you can’t.  THE ANSWERS ARE THERE!

There is no excuse for not learning.

And when you learn you reduce the risk of the worst happening. You have the answers, the knowhow, the expertise. Your fear will evaporate.

Embrace the worst case scenario. Recognise what it is (Really what is it? Exactly?) You can then take steps to reduce it or even eliminate it. Beat the shit out of it.

But NEVER let it rule you. Never let it deny you that one thing you always wanted to do.

What is it you really want to do? Climb Everest? Run your own business? Swim the channel?  Travel the world? It is YOUR dream. YOUR life.

Why not take those first steps today? What’s the worst that could happen?
